Jack R. Polsky, Chairman, is a grandson of Irving Harris, and has been with WHI since 1994. Mr. Polsky graduated with an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg School of Management and earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from Harvard College. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, Friends of Harvard Tennis and Squash, and the Carol Gollob Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
Charles Polsky currently serves as Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of WHI. He is a grandson of the office’s founder Irving Harris, and has been with WHI since 2002. Dr. Polsky oversees daily operations for WHI’s direct equity investing and is a Co-Portfolio Manager for the WHI Growth Fund. Dr. Polsky holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Yale University and an M.D. from the University of Chicago. He is boarded in Internal Medicine by The American Board of Internal Medicine.
Adam Langsam, Chief Operating Officer, joined WHI in January 2010 as a Senior Vice President. Mr. Langsam previously was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for Alternative Asset Manager Consulting, Financing Sales and Capital Introductions. Before joining Merrill Lynch, he spent eight years at Morgan Stanley in various roles focusing on risk management and the use of derivatives and financing strategies. Mr. Langsam began his career in investments at Lehman Brothers in 1990, where he worked for nine years. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Delaware.
(Mary) Beth Stephens has been with WHI since 1990 and is a Senior Vice President of the organization, serving as the Director of Financial and Client Services. Ms. Stephens is a Certified Public Accountant with an M.S. in Taxation from DePaul University and a B.S. in Accounting from St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame. Before joining WHI she was with the public accounting firms of Arthur Young and then Ernst & Young for eight years. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago.
Michael McQuinn has been with WHI since 1994, and has been a Vice President of WHI since 2001. He currently serves as Director of Taxes and Trust Administration. Mr. McQuinn is a Certified Public Accountant and has B.S. and M.A. degrees in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining WHI, Mr. McQuinn spent ten years with Ernst & Young, where he worked as a senior manager in the tax practice group.
Marc Bassewitz has been with WHI since August 2009 and is a Vice President of the organization, currently serving as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining WHI, he was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Bally Total Fitness Corporation. Mr. Bassewitz practiced law at Latham & Watkins LLP as an associate and partner from 1982 until 2004. He received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Michigan and is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Illinois Chapter.
Ann-Marie Wolf has been with WHI since April 2004 and is a Vice President of the organization, serving as Treasurer. Ms. Wolf is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. She received an M.B.A. in Finance from DePaul University and a B.S. in Accountancy from Illinois State University. Prior to joining WHI, Ms. Wolf spent eight years with Harris Associates, L.P. working directly with alternative investments, mutual funds and corporate accounting.
Duane Dibble has been with WHI since February 2008 and is a Vice President of the organization, serving as the Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining WHI, Mr. Dibble spent twelve years at Harris Associates as Manager of Portfolio Analytics. He received an M.B.A. in Finance and Statistics from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Purdue University. He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
